The weekend of Thanksgiving we thought we would take a family road trip to cut down and real tree. Well, our eyes and wishes were bigger than we could handle.....
Trying to find just the right one....
NOPE...keep looking...
Alyssa wasn't in the best of moods for our family day....she had just woke from a nap and was a big grouchy butt. She wanted me to hold her, but I refused too! So she pouted until.....
......Daddy put her on his shoulders!
After some time of being carried, she was in a much better mood!
Nope...not that one either.....keep looking...
Now THIS tree is THE one!!!
Would you quit taking pictures and HELP!!!
"A little big...a lot of sap" Clark W. Griswold
Alyssa was the one taking pictures....not me!!!
Cutting the 12.5 ft. tree was the easy part, getting it home and then setting it up was the difficult part....not so family friendly!
While the tree farm guys wrapped our tree up, we had a quick visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Brady asking for a dog......NOT going to happen (we have already talked with Santa!!!) Alyssa asking for Barbies and Polly Pockets.
Cole asking for a "real" police set with "real" handcuffs.
FYI.....a White Pine Evergreen tree is NOT a good tree for lights and Christmas ornaments. The limbs are not strong enough to hold lights all around the tree (just in the middle) and the limbs droop (a LOT) when ornaments are put on them.
The tree is now on our patio..poor tree..the old artificial tree was brought back up for the season! At least we created fun family memories and we have a story to tell..... The tree is awaiting the family chainsaw...as soon as it warms a bit, it will be firewood!
