March of Dimes Annual Fundraising

We are again planning to walk in the March of Dimes' Walk for Babies on April 26th. This walk has become a family tradition! We always walk in memory of our Angel Baby Christopher....

Without the March of Dimes efforts, Cole would have never been able to climb a volcano this past summer! It's been over 8 years since we lost our Christopher and over 8 years that we have observed Cole grow into a strong, energetic and athletic young man.

Last year we raised over $200! A HUGE THANK YOU to Rosa-Maria Moreno, George Green, Julie Ogden, Greta Warren, Ashlee Ralph, Jennifer Bickley, Doug Stahr, Jada Vaudrin, Ed Wuelfing, Terry & Liza Magee for donating to our walk last year.

Every year, half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely. Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death and many life long disabilities. The funds we raise in March for Babies support research that saves babies' lives.

The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

St. Patrick's Day

Liza's unexpected injury slowed the Magee's annual St. Patrick's Day planning and events down just a little bit...BUT with her green cast we were soon in the spirit......





Tyler and I ran in the Dublin's St. Patrick's Day 4 mile run to start the day's events. Tyler doesn't know it yet....but he'll be my running partner in a half marathon in August......







Next came the parade in the green fire truck....









Katy, Tyler and his friends did a great job passing out candy. Tyler even found his fan club....of course of ALL girls...



Back to the Magee's for lunch and to celebrate Katy's 9th birthday:







Then out for plenty of ceremonial St. Patrick's Day beverages with some neighbor girls!

Winter Scouts

Brady has been busy with Scouting events this winter. He has earned his First Class rank in January. He is two ranks away from his Eagle. Brady is working really hard and really fast throughout his ranks. We anticipate him receiving his Star rank in June and then in December his Life and 6 months to a year later his EAGLE! Lots of work and lots of fun to look forward to!

He also ran the entire Court of Honor ceremony in order to complete a requirement for his Communications Merit Badge:

Cole received his Wolf Rank in Cub Scouts and we will be FINALLY camping this spring! Watching Brady pack up for all his camping trips at least once a month has been torture!! Finally we can enjoy the outdoors a bit....enough of the arts and crafts!

Preparing for 1st Communion

Brady and Cole completed their first Penance a few weeks ago. These are their banners that were hung at St. Michael's. They were already scared enough to confess their sins, so I didn't make it worse by making them pose for a picture. Being the good role model mother that I am, I went to confession too....Forgive me Father for I have sinned...it's been SEVENTEEN years since my last confession...YIKES!!!! We have to go back already because we missed church a few weeks ago and I didn't realize that you aren't supposed to get Communion IF you miss church.....soooooo...here we go again......



As Cole prepares for his First Communion in April, he makes some bread to represent the Body of Christ. Although, I'm not sure if the priest will give Communion to such a goof-ball!

Cole's First Communion is scheduled for April 25th. It will be a BUSY weekend for the big Cole Douglas because the following day is our annual March of Dimes walk / run.
