Happy Valentine's Day

This past Valentine's weekend the Moreno-Greens, the Magees, The Cormanicks and the Jacksons shared our love for one another at Mesa Vista Lodge in Hocking Hills. This 5,000 square foot, 8 bedroom cabin is just the right size for our family.

A picture of the lodge taken from http://www.mesavista-lodge.com/

Alyssa didn't remember the cabin from last year, so Katy gave her a quick tour of one of the lofts.

Brady found himself a great cozy spot for reading!

Friday night really got started with the kareoke machine and some dancing!

Due to Brady currently taking health, he is aware how many beverages gets his mom at the 'happy' level....he wasn't very happy with mom!! Sorry Brady jeez........I was just having fun.... The tween years are definitly upon us!

It didn't take long for Cole and Katy to entertain us.... Cole found a quick costume to change in to and Katy made us laugh with her Sarah Palin impression.

Saturday was for 'recovering' from Friday night, most of us slept while the boys enjoyed some time outside at the fire pit and playing horse shoes.

After we recovered throughout the day we opened some winter/valentine gifts!

Sunday brought very memorable moments at Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls and Ash Cave (even though most of the snow and ice had already melted...)

The FAMILY:

We all really liked Cedar falls!

If you look close enough, that is the Jackson family next to the tree. Mom really wanted the tree (and us) in the picture to see the 'depth' of the cave.

Back to the cabin to roast some marshmallows and celebrate Liza's birthday.

A note of gratitude from the March of Dimes!

Dear Angie,

Because you signed the Petition for Preemies, we thought you would like to know that now millions of pregnant women and an estimated 11 million children will have much-needed health care coverage.

Today, President Obama signed the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (CHIPRA) into law.

My heartfelt thanks to the moms and dads, grandparents, and friends who heeded the March of Dimes call to action. Children's health is not a partisan issue -- it's every family's issue -- and worry. At a time when economic woes and job losses have put health coverage at risk, this law is more necessary than ever.

Dr. Jennifer L. Howse
President, March of Dimes

**Snow Day**

Greetings from 8010 Eric Ct. One of my attempts to be creative with my good old 7.0 megapixel digital camera.

Instead of staying in and annoying each other during a level II snow emergency, we grabbed the neighbors and the sledding equipment and headed to the closest fire house hill to do a bit of sledding!

The snow coming down was heavy, strong and windy. It was difficult to get the camera to focus.

My best attempt to snow board...notice I'm not really moving...once I started to move...DOWN I went and NOT down the hill...DOWN on my butt!

Brady taking a break or asking for a sled to crash right into him...not too sure!

Cole trying to take a siesta...all he needs is a sombrero and some sunshine!!

My SNOW ANGELS!

After Cole was hunted down....

...and then tackled.....the fun was just about over....

We are OF COURSE hoping for another snow day tomorrow!!!!!

Welcome back and Happy New Year! We hope everyone had a great holiday season. We wish everyone a warm, cozy, happy, healthy and prosperous 2009!

This year the Jaxn5 family have a few goals:

Brady and Cole will try to get along and work together as a team and be friends (like they did when they were younger) instead of constantly fighting against each other.

Alyssa will try to sleep in her new big girl bed for an ENTIRE night before Archie takes over her new bed.

Brian will attempt to support Obama & Biden--picture taken during one of Biden's visit to Columbus (The Bomb Squaders always find time to meet and greet the people they protect).

I first hope to get through winter semester--it's my big collaborative research project and then this summer graduate with my masters!

We hope that all of you complete your New Year's resolutions in 2009!

Happy New Year

We rang in the New Year with a small get-to-gether at home with Brian's family, Kevin and Nikki and my mom and George.

Brady thinks he's funny drinking apple juice out of a Gallo mug (Gallo is the beer of Guatemala)...at least I hope that's apple juice....

Brady and Cole hosted a game of the Moment of Truth...I think they found out a little bit too much about our guests!!

C'mon Cole...you can make it until midnight...

Alyssa doesn't have any problem staying up so late, the girl NEVER stops running her mouth long enough to get tired!

How cozy...good acting Brady, I know that you have NO PROBLEM staying awake either!

Finally the kids have left Archibald alone so that he can sleep a bit...

Getting the champagne ready!

Happy New Year!!!
