Brian, I and some of our friends, Kevin & Nikki, Scott & Lorina enjoyed a weekend without kids in Vegas a few weeks ago.

Nikki was the only one that really won something...from a Wheel A Fortune slot machine.

I think the boys asked the little Mexicans something really inappropriate...as they walk away with a little souvenir!

FYI:  Don't stay at the Excalibur...it was GROSS!

Green Eggs and Ham..or Bacon...

Alyssa is such a big girl!  She is DEFINITLY ready for kindergarten.  She has this book mastered...now we are working on the making of actual green eggs and some green bacon...we'll keep working on it! :)

We woke up to THIS this morning!  Just NOT right!!!!

BREAK my HEART!

Alyssa is getting MOODY.  At 5 she already has certain mood swings....I don't look forward to her teen years.

She MISSES her Fairy God Mother, Camench!!

After a little consoling, she felt a bit better!

A few moments later..........oh my...she is moody hot mess!!

Spring cleaning!

We've been busy spring cleaning!  We have been on spring break, the weather has been awful..cold and rainy.  We have done some pet sitting for James, Millie, Daisy, Puppy and Lucy.  Brian has been off for a few days so we decided to attack the basement.....18 years of hoarding mail, every electronic manual and box we've bought since living in our current house, baby items and just plain JUNK!  Brian agreed he had a bit of a problem of not throwing away mail and not shredding it.  What a relief...I LOVE throwing away things.  The kids and Brian get nervous when I get in these kind of moods...this week REALLY pleased me!  I'm PROUD of you Brian!  

This is JUST the trash....we have 10 boxes of mail and paper work to shred...which are still in the basement.  But at least we have sorted.  The trash pickers were out and enjoyed picking through the trash and taking a broken carpet cleaner and a stroller full of cobwebs.  We enjoyed watching 3 different beat-up pick-up trucks last night out the window.  What a hobby...next week we are putting out an old refrigerator...we are putting wagers on IF it is taken!!

Happy be-lated St. Patrick's Day

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day at the Magee's and the annual Dublin's parade with Dr. Magee in the front seat of the green fire truck.  It was a bit wet, but we still enjoyed the parade.

The last of it.....and spring is springing...

The last of the snow / ice on the patio and the Christmas tree cut up in the fire pit ready for a pine smoked fire.

Even with a few spots of snow remaining, around the corner our day lilies are sprouting...amazing what three days of 60 degrees and sunshine will do! 

Hopefully winter is gone and spring is here to stay!!

Might as well

Since the snow isn't going anywhere any time soon, we thought we would take time to enjoy it (again) while suffering from cabin fever.

Alyssa hasn't ever been sledding by herself...is today the day?????  Maybe after some help from Mamu (her newest term of endearment) and big brother.

 

After some practice and encouragement she tried NEXT to Brady, but ended up holding on to his sled the entire way down.

C'mon...you CAN do it!!!!

After a few more times going down, she felt very confident....Look Mamu...NO hands!!!  Maybe she'll be the one to ride a roller coaster with me!  It's been years since I've had anyone to enjoy those type of adventures.  I'll have to wait a few more years until she is a bit taller...but at least there is hope in sight!

Cole wasn't interested in the sled.  He has moved on to bigger better things!

Brady tried snowboarding, his feet were too big and even if they weren't, he doesn't have the coordination....sledding is fun too.

We are DONE with the snow.  We are ready for warmer weather, snowless yards and streets, normal school routines, baseball and tanning poolside!!!!

WHEN will it STOP???

We received about 10 inches last weekend...about another six today and some more tonight...and then I just heard on the news that we are expecting another large storm next week!  The only good thing about the snow is that we are home today from school....maybe (hopefully) tomorrow too!

We're going sledding after dinner this evening before the high winds and even colder temps roll in.

Sure would like to be in Guatemala right now.  We received new  pictures today of baby Anika enjoying the sunshine with her mom (my cousin Lily) and her dad (Oscar).  We would wish we could be enjoying the sunshine and warm weather with mi familia en Guate.
